Yellow or white is not a measure of dental health. According to oral health practitioner Boitumelo Koopedi, dentists have other ways to detect the condition of the teeth and oral cavity.
Of course, the dentist does not need to do a detailed examination of all the organs in the oral cavity. The doctor only needs to take a quick look to find out whether the patient often cleanses the teeth and the entire oral cavity or not. visit here shepaperieblog.
"The health of the oral cavity can be assessed from the gums closest to the teeth. The gum color tends to be bright pink on the teeth and oral cavity which is often cleaned and protected from plaque. Whereas the rarely cleansed color tends to red blood," said Koopedi Dentistry and Dental Hygiene, University of Pretoria, South Africa quoted from Mirror.
The blood-red color of the gum indicates the process of forming uninterrupted plaque. During plaque formation, the gums experience inflammation which causes blood to collect in the area that has been injured. As a result the gums look blood red. Inflammation of the gums is called gingivitis.
According to Koopedi, teeth can be tricked to look white, clean and healthy. But actually the gums determine the cleanliness and health of the teeth and oral cavity.
